After remaining dormant for roughly two years, Dublin-based producer Faws has dropped his Free Samples EP as a name-your-price download on Bandcamp, and is teasing the release with one of its three tracks. Right from the start, “Ghetto Lover” constructs a depth that is almost tangible. Clusters of cavernous ambiance engulf the tune as its simple beat cautiously meanders through the dank atmosphere, occasionally joined by haunting vocals that sway between delicate and piercing tones.
