Telepathe Plans Gigantic Tour

When making predictions for what might be hot in 2009, best friends Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais (a.k.a. Telepathe) didn't include themselves on the list, though they might as well have. Ableton Releases Live 8 and Suite 8

In 2007, Ableton released Live 7 in response to the growing number of producers swearing by the Germany-based company's music-making software. A little less than two years later, it's time for another upgrade, hence the announcement this morning that Live 8 and Suite 8 are now available to music-tech heads everywhere.

Well, Buraka Som Sistema is inviting you to shake what your mama gave you with your mama, along with the rest of your crew, for their “Sound of Your Community Dance Contest.” The contest intends to celebrate the music, dance and culture of Angola, in combination with other local cultures, by asking participants to create and submit videos showcasing their own community’s flavor to the tune of the group's single, “Sound of Kuduro.”

Steven Harrington Does DJ Mix, Incase

Omar Rodriguez Lopez Unveils New Band

El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez Lopez might sound like a recently created project, but if you've kept your ear close to the rumor mill over the last few years, you'll know that The Mars Volta's über-prolific frontman has been conceptualizing the outfit since 2006. Cryptomnesia will be the group's first release, with contributions from Hella's Zach Hill and Jonathan Hischke, Juan Alderete de la Peña, of The Mars Volta, and vocalist Cedric Bixler Zavala.

Zizek Brings Cumbia to the North
