Download: My Panda Shall Fly "Injury (Throwing Snow Remix)"

First Listen
Label: Growing

As the first non-Dam Mantle release to drop via the aformentioned artist's Growing label, the Sorry I Took So Long EP (pictured above) is a collection of three oddly smooth, beat-centric electronic productions from London-based musicmaker My Panda Shall Fly, paired with five remixes from an array of tunesmiths. This alternate version of EP opener "Injury" was put together by up-and-coming bass head Throwing Snow, who breaks apart the original's buttery synth pads and sparse beat work to reformat it all into a sometimes-stuttering, sometimes-shuffling, sometimes-sailing club tune that remains beautifully ominous throughout. You can catch the rest of MPSF's EP when it's released on April 11, but until then, there's a teaser video to tide you over, which you can watch after the jump. Read more »

Subeena to Release Retrospective Album

Before Subeena had a single to her name on Planet Mu, was featured in our Bubblin' section, or began running the Opit imprint, the UK-based producer co-headed the now-defunct Imminent (originally Immigrant until a later name change) label alongside fellow producer Dot. Now that these recordings are largely sold out and/or impossible to find, Subeena is releasing a collection of nine tracks from her Imminent past as well as two unreleased tracks on an album entitled 23 (her age when most of these songs were originally released back in 2008). Video: Ghostpoet "Cash & Carry Me Home (feat. Kano)"

Soft-skinned UK MC Ghostpoet released his debut LP, Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam, just earlier this year, and now we have a couple of remixes for lead single "Cash & Carry Me Home," one which has an accompanying video, too. Above, you can watch the artist responsible for the tune work in the studio with veteran wordsmith Kano on an alternate version of the single, courtesy of Red Bull Music Academy. Read more »

Download: Ossie "Reverse Mind Control"

First Listen
Label: Lightworks

The newly minted Lightworks imprint is set to release its first single in the form of two tracks from London-based producer/DJ Ossie and have sent this extra, non-single track along to help spread the word. "Reverse Mind Control" (most likely named after the track's reverse vocal snippets) finds Ossie crafting the brand of bubbling future-house he's been steadily catching the ears of UK's current taste makers with. Funky chords lead the track as they bounce around the stereo field, firing at regular intervals in coordination with the tune's skittering, housey beat. A few breakdowns here, a filter sweep or two there, Ossie gently moves us through this pulsing cut while adding layer after layer of precise percussion to keep the momentum building. Ossie's forthcoming "Tranatula" b/w "Creepy Crawlies" single (which also features a remix from fellow Londoner Funkineven) is set to be released on March 14 with a follow-up single from the hotly tipped producer being readied for release later this year on the renowned Hyperdub label.

Download: Savage Skulls "Caravan (Jacques Greene Remix)"

Just before the release of his forthcoming 12", we've gotten our hands on a new remix from Montreal's burgeoning producer Jacques Greene. This time around, Greene's superimposed his future-house style onto the a-side cut from Savage Skulls' (pictured above) recent "Caravan" b/w "Watching You" single. The Swedish duo's original glistening xylophone melody and chant-like vocals can be found glitched and manipulated alongside Greene's trademark pulsing stabs and rolling basslines. Not afraid to inject the track with a healthy amount of his own personality, Greene once again proves that he can assemble an assortment of shakers, claps, clicks, and pops into irresistible rhythmic whirlwinds that render his classic yet futuristic take on house uniquely dancefloor worthy.

Help Javelin Make an "Epic Internet Western"

The obsessive dollar-bin diggers of lighthearted, sample-heavy dance jam duo Javelin have a brand-new project in the works. Following last year's highly enjoyable No Más LP, the Canyon Candy 10" is an offering of songs apparently inspired by American frontier life, which will also double as the soundtrack for an "epic internet western" that Javelin and director Mike Anderson need your help to create.
