Download: kuxxan SUUM & MC Doodoo "The Drip (Sclist Remix)"

First Listen

New York's South Fork Sound label is set to issue its first vinyl release next week in the form of the The Drip/ Stay Reminded 7" from North Carolina-based producer kuxxan SUUM (and featuring the talents of one MC Doodoo). Serving as a digital bonus to the upcoming effort will be this remix from Leeds beatmaker Sclist, who reshapes the record's lead track into a largely vocal-less affair, one which retains the dub-wise sonics of the original "The Drip" while infusing it with extra doses of sub-bass and a more brooding atmosphere. Officially out on November 17, the rest of South Fork Sound's upcoming vinyl release can be previewed after the jump.  Read more »

Download: Mongo Skato "Turismoc"

First Listen
Label: 1080p

The fast-paced 1080p label seems intent on continuing its run of plucking fertile talent from places no one else thought to look with the debut release from Mongo Skato, I Don't Give It, just on the horizon. A New Zealand-based producer, Skato's forthcoming eight-track debut is said to deliver a range of "euphoric" and "deranged" hybrid technoid productions influenced by "recently discovered dirt-cheap '90s house and techno records." Our first glimpse into how Skato's various aims and inspirations may all converge on I Don't Give It comes in the form of "Turismoc," a track which steadily bounces with lo-fi rhythms that serve as the structural base for an array of fuzzy chords and playful melodies whose tones land somewhere between cheap digital synths and decades-old video-game music. Finished off with just a touch of funk, "Turismoc" seems to indicate that Mongo Skato's debut outing will sit nicely amongst the rest of the 1080p catalog when it officially joins the ranks on December 2.

Download: Felix Lenferink "Geronto"

First Listen

Tracks like "Geronto" are all but impossible to classify in terms of genre. Serving as the closing cut to Felix Lenferink's (actually one of the many aliases of Holland-based producer Steve Mensink) upcoming The Same Species Occur EP, "Geronto" fuses together a number of bass music permutations, its low-end content surely fit for the club, while a swirling procession of bright synth melodies and jazzy chords fill out the track's upper half. A delightfully manic production, "Geronto" is one of five tracks set to be included on the forthcoming The Same Species Occur EP, which will serve as South London label Chasing Unicorns' 11th release when it lands on November 24. In the meantime, the rest of the record can be previewed after the jump.  Read more »

Download: Deebs "Waves (Project Pablo Remix)"

Burgeoning Toronto beatmaker Deebs issued the five-track Songs4UByMe EP (artwork above) last month as a self-released free download. Now, the producer has quickly returned with a remix EP for Songs4UByMe, featuring reworks from the likes of Blackedout, Orlando Volcano, and fellow rising Canadian artist Project Pablo, whose take on "Waves" is featured here. A bright, melodious slice of futuristic beatwork in its original form, Project Pablo takes Deebs' track in a completely new direction, refitting the tune's bell-like melodies and moody atmospheres into a hazy, shuffling house production. Both Deebs' Songs4UByMe EP and its accompanying remix collection are available to download for free here, while the producer's recent video for the original version of "Waves" can be watched below.  Read more »

Download: Red Royalty "El Toro"

First Listen

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, techno newcomer Red Royalty will deliver the second outing on his own Second Voyage imprint with the three-track Spirit EP early next month. Appearing on the b-side of the forthcoming record is "El Toro," a six-plus-minute track built around a bouncing techno framework that serves as the platform from which Red Royalty unravels a dark and subtly tweaked synth sequence. Appearing just behind the production's lead line and its evolving layers of atmospheric tones are a flurry of buzzing synth melodies, which ultimately help give "El Toro" an extra sense of sonic playfulness, albeit one tucked underneath the production's austere techno finish. After grabbing "El Toro" below, a promo video for Red Royalty's debut Spirit EP can be watched after the jump; the record officially lands on December 1.  Read more »

Download: PVNV "Intrasolaar"

First Listen
Label: Taapion

The upcoming third effort from freshly launched French imprint Taapion will be the four-track Consortium EP from label head PVNV. One of two original tracks set to appear on the record (alongside remixes from Shlømo and Sterac) is "Intrasolaar," an icy techno production which drapes dense, foggy pads and a metallic bell melody atop a deeply focused rhythmic framework. An extremely detailed production which intently digs beneath its atmospheric layers across the tune's seven-minute run, PVNV's "Intrasolaar" production can be grabbed for free below, while the rest of the Parisian artist's forthcoming Consortium EP (out on November 17) can be previewed after the jump.  Read more »

Download: Yard One "Equinox"

Label: Tact

Earlier this month, budding producers Yard One and Adventures in Daydreams teamed up for the split Apportion EP, which saw its release via the Tact label. Pulled from that outing is "Equinox," a spiraling endeavor which laces a thick procession of textured, club-ready drums with an innumerable amount of snaking synth sequences and swelling chords. Spanning over seven-minutes, "Equinox" is a patient production, one which takes its time to explore evolving combinations of the track's sun-touched elements, consistently anchored by the warm chords with which the production began its run. Yard One's "Equinox" track can be grabbed below, while the rest of the collaborative Apportion EP can be previewed after the jump.  Read more »
