Swim Team is a fresh-faced NYC crew that plans to issue its debut compilation, Swim Team Trax 1, next month. Incorporating productions from each member of the collective (which includes the likes of Color Plus, AceMo, DJ LILMATT, Izy, Kanyon, Rambow, and Lord $M$), Daddy AOL is set to lead off the effort with "Fall Off." Credited as the the initial founder of the Swim Team collective, Daddy AOL has crafted a solid club hybrid to kick off the forthcoming comp, as "Fall Off" fuses together dubby chord stabs with thick rhythms which teeter just on the edge between a jittery half-time stomp and a full-force shuffle. Before the Swim Team collective's debut compilation arrives next month, the crew's promo video for the effort (which features snippets of its 10 tracks) can be watched after the jump. Read more »

Italian techno producer Simone Gatto will return to his own Out-Er imprint next month with his second EP for the imprint, Holzwege. Leading off the b-side of the four-track record is "May 28th," a driving effort that begins patiently by patiently building from a steady kick drum and a low-rumbling bassline. As the seven-minute track fully takes shape, Gatto brushes the rolling affair with atmospheric noises before eventually teasing out a number of thick synth sequences and buzzing pads from the depths of the full-bodied production. Ahead of its release on November 3, the rest of Gatto's Holzwege EP—which features a remix from Dutch synth specialist Legowelt—is streaming after the jump. Read more »
NYC producers Francis Harris (a.k.a. Adultnapper) and Anthony Collins are set to release their debut LP together as Frank & Tony via the Scissor & Thread imprint on November 17. Leading up to its release, the pair's nine-track You Go Girl LP will first be split across three vinyl EPs—titled You, Go, and Girl—with the series' first EP having arrived last week. Appearing in its original form on that effort is "Bring the Sun," a smoky, low-swung house track which features the band-passed vocals of one Gry Bagøien. Here, we have the track's Dub version, which strips back Bagøien's vocal contribution, further revealing the murky pads and smoldering textures which fill out the duo's slow-motion house production. Before Frank & Tony Go and Girl EPs arrive in the coming weeks, both efforts can be previewed after the jump. Read more »
A French artist with a number of years of DJing and producing under her belt, Flore will launch the Polaar label early next month with her own RITUAL Part 1 EP. Consisting of tracks extracted from her current Ritual live A/V show—which is said to question "the visceral relationship between art and the holy throughout history"—the crunchy "Graved on Stone" is set to close out the forthcoming three-track effort. Beginning with dubbed chord stabs and a series of static-laden hits, "Graved on Stone" spends little time before laying into its thick rhythms; composed of metallic booms and clangs, as well as a series of machine-rendered toms, the production ultimately reveals itself to be a precisely crafted piece of industrial-minded club music. Ahead of its release on November 4, Flore's upcoming RITUAL Part 1 EP can be streamed in full after the jump. Read more »
The Enchufada label's ongoing Upper Cuts series aims to highlight burgeoning talent from the world of global club music by offering exclusive tracks up for free download on a regular basis. The latest such artist to contribute to the series is Siete Catorce, a Mexico City-based artist whose hypnotic—and appropriately titled—"Syncopate" production serves as the latest Upper Cuts single. Pieced together with a somewhat minimal arrangement, "Syncopate" focuses on a string of sharp percussion hits, which float up and down the frequency spectrum as a thumping kick drum and airy chords fill in the space behind them. An affiliate of Mexico's NAAFI crew/collective, Siete Catorce's new track can be grabbed below, while the most recent contributions to Enchufada's Upper Cuts series can be streamed and downloaded here.
After appearing in XLR8R's Downloads section early last month while operating under his Dr. Nol alias, Dublin producer Cignol has returned with a new record in hand, the Tidal Sheer EP. Serving as the second effort from fledgling UK label Seagrave, the cassette/digital release offers four synth-streaked productions including the electro-indebted "Sys486." Again finding Cignol carefully tweaking out an arsenal of thick synthesizer tones, "Sys486" appears on a moodier tip than the last outing we heard from the Irish producer, with dark chords and pensive melodies spread across the track's skittering 808 beat.
London transplant Terrell first appeared on our radar earlier this year, when the producer dropped an EP's worth of raw, atmospheric tracks via the First Second label. While Terrell has been relatively quiet on the release front since then, the UK artist recently surfaced with the soul-strewn house of "Werk That," a production first offered for free via the budding talent's SoundCloud. Spanning just under six minutes, "Werk That" is a lively bit of house, one-fueled by chopped Rhodes chords and hypnotic vocal snippets which bounce around the tune's sharp hats and active layers of percussion. Not to be overlooked, the track's occasional whistle blow is a nice touch too.
