How do I pronouce Gui? I have always felt like I said it wrong.

Hard "g" like "gives great grooves"...
"u" is like in "put", but run it into the next vowel, so it's almost like a w
"i" is like "ee" in "feet"
GWEE?
But someone told me Brazilian Portuguese is at least a bit tonal (like the pitch of the syllables carries meaning)... no idea about the tones involved if that's the case.
