Download: Luomo "Love You All"

Label: Huume

Not since 2006's Paper Tigers have we heard anything from Sasu Ripatti under his Luomo guise. The elven-like Finnish producer ended the silence this past November with the release of Convivial, and to all of those who found Paper Tigers a little less than par, the new album should restore any teetering faith in Ripatti's work as a maker of ethereal vocal house. "Love You All" is the second track off the album and features Sascha Ring (a.k.a. Apparat) doing his best falsetto chorus.

Download: Pan American "How Much Progress One Makes"

Label: kranky

Mark Nelson, otherwise known as producer Pan American, has been crafting his brooding, lurking music for well over a decade now, and he's not showing any signs of slowing down. February 24 will see the release of another full-length, entitled White Bird Music. Kranky is letting this track off the album circulate in the weeks prior to the album's release.

Download: Ladyfinger (ne) "Little Things"

Why they choose to include an abbreviation for the state of Nebraska in their name is still a mystery, but in any case, Ladyfinger (ne) has a new album in the works, set for release on February 3. Dusk follows 2006's Heavy Hands, and finds frontman Chris Machmuller in an aggressive frame of mind, as evidenced by the no-nonsense guitar riffs and angry lyrics on this track. If your plans for the near future include breaking up with someone (and if you like electric guitars), this one's an essential song.

Download: ZZZ "Lion (Breakbot Remix)"

Label: Gang Bang

As its press release states, "Lion," ZZZ's debut release, is all about "pianos, pianos, pianos, pianos, and more pianos." This is true of not only the track's original version, but also of the three remixes the boyfriend/girlfriend duo unveiled when the single dropped in late December. Breakbot—who's reworked the likes of Metronomy and Sebastien Tellier—had a go at the song with this remix, adding his French electro touch to the track to make it the world's most danceable piano solo.

Download: Little Jinder "Polyhedron (Konrad Old Money Remix)"

Recent Trouble & Bass signee Little Jinder has proven her melody-driven pop productions are highly suitable for remixing, what with her EP, Polyhedron, getting a 10-track remix album earlier in 2008, with contributions from the likes of Black Holes, The Boys and Girls Club, and Aumenaire. The latest crew to take on the Swedish electro-pop chanteuse is the rapping, DJing, Earl Grey drinking trio Old Money. The dynamic NY-based group included this remix of Polyhedron's title track on their free, digital-only EP, Scareapeutic, currently making its way around the blogosphere.

Download: Black Lips "Starting Over"

Label: Vice

Black Lips announced a new album, the grandly titled 200 Million Thousand, earlier in December, and the Atlanta, GA-based garage rocking four-piece, after promising the new release would be a more melodic affair, released this track to prove the point. Following the album's release, on February 24, the band will embark on what's shaping up to be another lengthy tour, an no doubt has plenty of onstage antics planned.

Download: Casiokids "Fot i Pose (Axemax Remix)"

Norwegian electro group Casiokids likes to blend theatrical visuals with its trademark Afro-, techno-, and Northern-influenced style of danceable pop. After the success of their first single, and an exciting 12-date kindergarten tour to promote their first album, the band is set to release its next offering, Verdens storste land/ fot I hose EP, on March 2. This will mark the first in a series of 7-inches the band plans to release in 2009 on Moshi Moshi. This Axemax remix of “Fot i Hose” sullies the already dirty single with grimy machine-gun synths, cut-up reggae counter tones, and ratchet accents. Catch these crazy kids on tour with Of Montreal next month if you are in or around Europe. Or check them out at SXSW in March. Lulu McAllister
