Ssaliva "Drugged Out Quest"

Belgium's François Boulanger (a.k.a. Cupp Cave) is set to release RZA (pictured above), his second EP as Ssaliva, via the Vlek imprint on January 16. The eight-track 10" record follows the multi-faceted producer's debut cassette EP for Matthewdavid's Leaving Records from last February. Featured here, "Drugged Out Quest"—an outtake from the RZA sessions—is a hazy shuffle through a sort of alternate hip-hop universe. These slow, lo-fi beats retain a warm tape sound, with laid-back percussion washed over by ambient, Boards of Canada-esque hums.
