It seems like LA/SF duo 5kinandbone5 has officially drifted away from its eccentric bass-music tendencies with its latest record, the Sex Lies & Videochat EP. Yet while the music sounds different from what we’ve heard previously, it’s still hard to confine to one genre. One of 5kinandbone5’s latest tunes, “Forest Nymphs,” sits somewhere between the Miami Vice soundtrack and the sounds of early-’90s house music. A tropical conga rhythm dances over the track’s groove as it further blurs the lines between genres while adding an extra dose of throwback fun to the vibe.
