Bristol producer Materia‘s Atlas EP was the Slime label’s first foray into physical releases when it was released back in May, and both parties will follow that record with an EP of remixes on October 7. Ahead of that occasion, Materia has shared a free download of one of Atlas:Remixed‘s six tracks, “Otherland (Submerse Remix).” Rain droplets and synth percolations create the foundation of the deeply effecting production by Submerse (pictured above), a base which is encircled by piercing pitched vocals and hazy soundscapes. Ultimately, filtered bells and pressurized bass grooves consume the emotionally heavy track, but not before it’s allowed to drudge through its nearly three-minute runtime.
