Cock Rock Disco label boss Jason Forrest remixes New York native Paul Brill's single "Paris Is On," slapping his trademark eclecticism onto the track, then handing it over to director Joel Trussel and animator Gene Blakefield for the video. And it's always entertaining to watch an animated red blob get thrown out of a hotel pool by the custodian then go mental with a Swiss Army Knife.

As Dirt Crew, Germany's two-man minimal power duo of Peter Gijselaers and Felix Eder (a.k.a. James Flavour) have made a name for themselves in the house and techno scenes by mixing the old with the new, incorporating '80s disco and house into more contemporary minimal techno sounds. For the latest installment of the XLR8R Podcast DJ Mix Series, Gijselaers and Eder mix a selection of tracks together that shows off just what Dirt Crew is all about.

Since their inception in Jamaica during the 1940s, soundsystems have become an integral part of music culture and instrumental in the birth of reggae, bringing music to the masses in a way dancehalls couldn't. JJ Stratford, assisted by David J. Weissberg, researches and photographs this tradition of homemade systems, available for viewing at Peepshow.
