Diplo Nominated for Grammy Award

Diplo's resume includes producer, DJ, Mad Decent label boss, and extreme globetrotter. Now we can add Grammy Nominee to the list too, as the man born Wes Pentz has just been nominated for a Record of the Year Award. The nomination comes for his work producing M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes," off her 2008 album Kala.

The Grammys air February 9, 2009 on CBS.

we tend to forget the grammys don't measure music with taste, but like everything else, music is measured by money. i believe it's one of money's main functions, and that is to measure how much something is worth. apparently mia's song in pineapple express was worth a grammy, who knew lol.

Why are you all hating? Isn't this a good thing? I remember when people were naysaying against Three 6 Mafia for their Grammy win. I believe it to be an affect of the proliferation of what once was once undergroud into the mainstream. The world is changing. I love that these guys are up for record of the year. It shows progress.
