It was only a couple of weeks ago when Detroit techno icon Kevin Saundersonspoke out against the illegal sampling of his classic ’87 track “The Sound,” and gave away the fraudulent production for free. Now, the veteran DJ/producer continues to take back his music with a brand-new remix record released on his own label. Released yesterday, Reese & Santonio’s The Sound (2011 Remixes) features two reworks of Saunderson’s pirated tune by new KMS Records signees Brandon DeCarlo (who also has his own Osmosis EP coming on March 28) and nephew Kweku Saunderson, which are said to “properly carry on “The Sound”‘s legacy.” And below, you can check out a few forthcoming tour dates for Saunderson and his Hi-Tek Soul Tour with Derrick May this spring.
