Freshjive Reissues Designs for the Resurgent Series

Freshjive, one of the undisputed OG brands in streetwear, is taking a trip back through time to revisit some of its early and most famous designs. The Resurgent Series is a collection of t-shirts whose origins lie in the years between 1989-1992, when Freshjive owner Rick Klotz took inspiration from the everyday (as in 7-11, Tide detergent, and cereal boxes) and cranked out the four designs below.

Skateboarders Take Over San Francisco

Thanks to skate apparel brand Emerica Skateboard Company, July 4 will see over 25,000 skateboarders, from 25 countries, take over the streets of San Francisco for Wild in the Streets. The all-day, skateboarding event begins downtown (an official meeting place will be announced today), and will encompass a five-mile ride that ends with a barbecue and is sure to draw everyone between the ages of nine and 30.

The Week In Videos

This week began with a video from the new DFA sensation, Prinzhorn Dance School’s “Up! Up! Up!” Next, we saw the drag-show madness of Von Sudenfed, then mellowed out on Wednesday with sensitive indie-rock, care of Thrill Jockey’s Califone. All that sensitive man music gave us a need to get gritty, with Paris’s elelctro-heathen outfit Teenage Bad Girl, and to cap off the week we saw El-P in full incarceration mode on “Smithereens (Stop Crying).”

The Week In Downloads

It seems we couldn't get enough of the remixes when the week began. Cassettes Wont Listen gave the Brooklyn-based indie band Dirty on Purpose a facelift. Christian Martin of dirtybird turned Worthy's space-tech into drum & bass madness, and Skoozbot made a bleep-driven version of JPLS's "Green01." Upon having our fill of remixes, we enlisted Justice to supply us with 2007's undisputed club banger, then finished off the week with a track from eclectic funk outfit, The Ticklejunk All Stars.
