Modeselektor has dropped a video for “Berlin,” a choice cut from last fall’s Monkeytown LP that features guest vocals from Romanian-German pop singer Miss Platnum. Stereogum reports that the “Berlin” video was born from Swiss designer François Chalet‘s longshot wish to have the Berlin duo play at his wedding, which Modeselektor agreed to in exchange for this surreal, cardboard-cutout animated video. The bizarre, eye-catching accompaniment to Modeselektor’s bassy track features a giant robotic ape that terrorizes a city (presumably Berlin), eventually kidnapping an animated version of Miss Platnum from an all-ages club to—oddly enough—eat shawarma.
