Video: Clive Tanaka y su Orquesta "Neu Chicago"



There's not a lot of information out there about Clive Tanaka. He's from Hokkaido, Japan. He makes music both alone and with the help of his "orquesta." (That's Spanish for orchestra.) He's just unveiled Jet Set Siempre 1º, a cassette-only release with two parts, "For Dance" and "For Romance." As for the music, it doesn't really fit in with any particular scene, but it sure is delightful. Read more »

New Single From Untold to Drop this November on R&S

At this rate, Belgium's R&S label is likely to release a record of some sort for just about every one of XLR8R's favorite producers. Next in line is the forthcoming new 12" by Hemlock label head and bass music champion Jack Dunning (a.k.a. Untold), which follows Numbers' recent release of his "Myth" collaboration with UK funky star Roska. Read more »

Tanlines to Release Compilation Album

Brooklyn-based tropically flavored pop duo Tanlines has planned a sort of unconventional release for its European fans. While folks in the US enjoyed the band's debut EP for True Panther, Settings, it never received a proper release on the other side of the pond. To remedy that problem, on December 6, Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm will release a limited-edition, double-disc compilation album, entitled Volume On [sic], that takes its 18 tracks from various EPs, singles, one-off tunes, remixes, and never-before-heard numbers by the pair and some of their like-minded peers.
