New GusGus Podcast Up

Kompakt's newest podcast just went up, and it comes to us from President Bongo of Icelandic electronic trio GusGus. The mix features a lovely mesh of different sounds, ranging from the Detroit thump of Theo Parrish to the more cerebral tones of Ada. Not surprisingly, the sonic texture of the podcast shares some similarities with the latest GusGus album, 24/7. More interesting sounds from this zany figure! Download available here, with a full tracklist after the jump. Read more »

Salem's Menacing New Release

Salem has returned, bringing more of their dark electronic washes with a new two-song single on Audraglint. XLR8R gave readers the a-side of the new single, "Frost", earlier this week, but today we bring you the amazing video for the b-side, titled "Legend." Featuring night-vision shots and a fetishization of fighter jets that teeters toward Top Gun, there is something eminently weird and haunting about the audio-visual pairing. For more on the creepy midwestern trio, check out our April feature on them. The "Legend" music video appears after the jump! Read more »

The film debuted in February, but now we're happy to host The Bus here on XLR8R.com. Even better, we've got the director's cut, which includes never-before-seen footage of members of The Bus' crew branding one another with a coathanger. Read more »
