Hyperdub Details New Kyle Hall 12", Shares Mini-Mix from Kode9

Celebrating 10 years of releasing quality, uncompromising electronic music from around the world, Hyperdub has its sights set on a very big year for 2014. New records from the likes of Cooly G, Fatima Al Qadiri, and King Britt's Fhloston Paradigm alias have already been announced or released, and we've also received the details of the first in a series of four compilations that will arrive this year to help celebrate the anniversary. Adding to that today, the label has unveiled a forthcoming 12" from Detroit iconoclast Kyle Hall (pictured above) and a mini-mix of new music from Hyperdub honcho Kode9. Read more »

Anthony Naples to Release Another Trilogy Tapes EP; Listen to a New Track Now

Anthony Naples had himself a busy 2013 on the release front, issuing records for Mister Saturday Night, Rubadub, The Trilogy Tapes, and his own Proibito imprint. His 2014 has been quiet so far, but earlier today, the Brooklyn-based producer announced that his first effort of the year would find him returning to The Trilogy Tapes for another go-round. Terrence Dixon Announces Retirement from Making Music

The past couple of years saw a flurry of activity from Detroit techno maven Terrence Dixon, who added two LPs and a few EPs and singles to his already sizable discography throughout 2012 and 2013. However, a new post on the veteran DJ/producer's Facebook indicates that those records will be the last to arrive from Dixon, as he has announced his immediate retirement. Read more »

Listen to a Mix of Rare Chinese Funk, Soul, and Jazz from Honey Soundsystem's Bezier for Beats in Space

San Francisco's Honey Soundsystem crew has been keeping very busy in 2014. Just this week, the collective—who we profiled back in January as part of Bubblin' Up Week—issued its new Spring Mix, while crew member Jackie House teamed up with fellow SF producer Dr. Sleep on "Predatory Landscape," a Patrick Cowley-sampling tune that was offered up as a free giveaway in our Downloads section.
