New EP On Its Way From Dâm-Funk
- Words: James Eaton
Though he's kept plenty busy dropping off-the-cuff jams and a series of unmastered tunes "straight from the lab," the bastion of SoCal G-funk known as Dâm-Funk will finally release a proper follow-up to 2010's epic long-player Toeachizown. Called I Don't Wanna Be a Star!, the DJ/producer/singer's forthcoming new record is a four-track EP which features three wholly original tracks and one cover of "17 Days" by Prince. Releasing label Stones Throw says the EP will drop in fall 2012, but you can stream previews of Dâm-Funk's new tunes before then, here, and stream a rough version of the aforementioned Prince cover, below.
