Grab Derrick May's Mixes While You Can

Detroit's pioneer of early techno, DJ and producer Derrick May, was commissioned by BBC Radio to contribute to their 6 Mix series. What May created for the innovative radio program is an eclectic collection of energetic and classic songs spanning three separate mixes. The mixes, "Hi Tek Soul Mix," "Influences and All Time Favourites," and "Mayday Club Mix," feature songs from Miles Davis, Boards of Canada, D'Angelo, Karizma, Cadenza 34, Los Hermanos, and just about everything in between. Free Liquid Liquid/Rhys Chatham Show

1980s post-punk beat-makers Liquid Liquid return to the stage this summer in New York, finally bringing their oft-sampled disco-punk to a new generation of eager fans. With them, the iconic experimental composer Rhys Chatham is premiering A Crimson Grail for 200 Electric Guitars, a Glenn Branca-esque piece featuring both professional axe wielders and students. Wavves Tour Set for the Fall

Keeping it on the DL since his meltdown at the Primavera Festival in late May, Nathan Williams of Wavves is hopefully ready to lay off the hard stuff this time when he hits the road this fall for a full U.S. tour. Hitting up some serious urban ports along the way, Williams will have to keep those temptations of his in check if he plans to make it to New York City by week three. CocoRosie Returns to North America

The sisters Casady of France-based experimental folk-pop group CocoRosie will be landing stateside in September for their first North American tour in over two years. The last time the girls made their way across the Atlantic in 2007 to support their Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn album, they were stopped at the Canadian border and were forced to cancel the remainder of their trip, so fingers crossed that they have their visa issues worked out beforehand this time.
