Boozoo Bajou Readies New Album, Tour

Boozoo Bajou starts off the new year armed with a brand-new album, set for release in early spring. This is the first proper full-length from the Nuremberg, Germany-based duo since 2005's Dust My Broom, and the new offering is said to be inspired less by the Cajun sounds that have marked Florian Seyberth’s and Peter Heider's earlier work and more by the acoustic musings of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and Jackson Browne. No doubt the two have thrown some electronic elements in among the singer-songwriter influences. Read more »

Sonar 2009 Announces General Ticket Sale

Some glad tidings for those who've been pondering how much hard-earned cash they'll have to fork over to attend this year's Sonar Festival in Barcelona, Spain. The three-day music and multimedia festival—set to take place June 18, 19, and 20—is now offering a special price of 125 euros a pop on all general admission passes, through January 31.

Free Blood Plans U.S. Tour Dates

Madeline Davy and John Pugh, a.k.a. the experimental soulsters in Free Blood, will open the new year with five U.S. tour dates in which they'll bring the post-punk-meets-disco-meets-noise on their debut full-length, The Singles, to the live setting.

Though most of these dates are on the west coast, mid-Januray sees one date in NYC, and an east coast mini-tour rumored for March.
