Tennessee native and Stanford PhD student Holly Herndon has unveiled the video for “Movement,” the title track from her recent album on RVNG (read our review here). Apparently, director Mat Dryhurst crafted the clip “with China in mind,” matching Herndon’s breathy vocal samples, crunching 303s, and marching techno beat with stark shots of two human forms: glistening abs, twitching faces, chalky fingers, squirming interlocked limbs. Much like the track itself, the video’s simplicity seems packed with symbolism and meaning.
