L.A.'s Annual HARD is On

The summer edition of the HARD festival will once again take over The Forum in Los Angeles, this time on August 8.

Last year's festivities sold out faster than you can say "electro-house," so fans wanting to catch music's current roster of cool kids in the live setting should hop to it and purchase tickets now. No less than 15,000 are expected to attend this year, so those who crave space on the dancefloor need not apply.

Força Du Rua Makes Art, Raises Money

On April 29, art and fundraising converged for A Força du Rua, an event that showcased the work of British and Brazilian graffiti stars and also raised £40,000 for the Action for Brazil's Children Trust (ABC Trust). Most of us weren't in London to make the event, but copies of the prints are still showing and selling, with proceeds going towards the ABC Trust.

REKIDS Launches REK'D

Techno fans have no doubt heard the buzz on a new tune called "Stranger (To Stability)" by techno producer Dustin Zahan. Said tune, which is also in Beatport's Techno Top 10 chart, is just one of the many we'll hear courtesy of REK'D, a new imprint from the duo behind REKIDS. James Masters and Matt Edwards (a.k.a. Watch: Kero One's Guide to S.F.

I'm a Cliché Turns Five

In 2004, Parisian producer Cosmo Vitelli started his I'm a Cliché imprint, and thus came a slew of singles by artists like Simian Mobile Disco, Quiet Village, and Yuksek. Five years and a whole lot of music later, the label is unveiling its first-ever compilation, and, as celebratory label collections often are, Moments of a Crisis is a two-disc package where past and future meet.

Dang... Custom Vans

If there's one thing we remember about XLR8R's former design/production guy David Clark, it's that he loved his Vans. Now an artist living and working in Austin, TX, Clark recently worked his artistic magic on a pair of them, the results of which are over at Off the Wall. Dang! is all we have to say. Read more »

Squarepusher: Just a Bass

Hold 2008's Just a Souvenir against him if you will, but one thing that's not lackluster about Tom Jenkinson is his ability to put on a live performance. From bass guitars to a legendary cameo by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, an evening with Squarepusher is usually a memorable one, so his announcement of a live album is more than welcome.
