Free Cock Rock Disco Compilation

New monstrosities are coming from Jason Forrest’s Cock Rock Disco imprint these days, in the form of Monsters of Cock Rock Disco, and we don’t need to look much farther than this compilation’s tracklisting (below) to see how the release lives up to its name.

Monsters of Cock Rock Disco is the label’s first sampler in three years, following The Cock Rock Disco 2006 Free Compilation, which included the likes of Food for Animals, Duran Duran Duran, Drumcorps, and others.

Sonar Does New York

As previously reported, Barcelona's Sonar festival jumped Stateside for a hot minute this spring to unveil a U.S. debut at Sonarsound NY. The multi-day event featured DJ /rupture and Prefuse 73 headlining, in the company of several other musicians and many, many fans. Here’s a few shots from the debut U.S. event.

Zizek Collective Plans Second Release

Argentina-based DJ collective Zizek Urban Beats Club wowed North American audiences last month when the crew traveled North and delivered an aural education on the finer details of the cumbia sound.

Further lessons on the group’s trademark musical style are soon to follow, namely, in the form of Zizek’s second release, ZZK Sound Vol. 2.
