Video: Dreams "Black Hole City"
- Words: Rebecca Bratburd
In the sixth of eight videos scheduled to accompany NY-via-LA producer Dreams' Lost Kingdom LP (you may remember the first piece we posted last month), 6BIT's in-house video artist PXL explores imagery apparently inspired by some interpretation of a lost aquatic city. The piece is decidedly abstract, beginning with an intergalactic cruise before hinting at spiky sea creatures and slimy, rainbow-tinted slugs. A nondescript skull gets the full web-art treatment—complete with chaotically mismatched colors and an abundance of computerized patterns and textures—toward the end, helping make the connection between both the human and robotic themes throughout "Black Hole City."
