The Chap Launch North American Tour

Having released a very danceable third album last summer (Mega Breakfast), London-based pop foursome The Chap is finally hitting up the U.S. for its first-ever North American tour. The band plans to pass through the East Coast, Midwest and, in just a few days, Austin, for South by Southwest.

Caspa Readies Debut Album

Noted U.K. dubstep producer Caspa recently left fans a little surprise on his MySpace page, namely in the form of a concise message that reads “new tunes up.” The reason for the note (other than its obvious implications), is that the man born Gary McCann is ready to unleash his long-awaited debut solo album, Everybody’s Talking, Nobody’s Listening, next month.

Maureen Yancey Produces Dilla Album

When it comes to compiling music from artists who have passed on, none, it would seem, has a deeper vault of unreleased material to cull from than the late J Dilla. That he was ridiculously prolific we know (see his work with Slum Village, A Tribe Called Quest, and his own solo albums), but the sheer amount of projects that have sprung from Dilla beats since his death just over three years ago—the Ruff Draft re-issue and little brother Illa J’s debut solo album among them—never fails to surprise.

Get Crazy Feat. Mr. Slaughter

Ghislain Porier's latest video, which just arrived this morning, is for the track "Get Crazy" (featuring jungle MC Mr. Slaughter), and since the jarring camera angles here put any Oliver Stone film to shame, you might simultaneously get motion sickness while watching. Hold onto your lunch as the king of bounce's head spins around and around.

Dip Down

East Oakland-born Sunspot Jonz can now add writer, director, and actor to a resume that already boasts his accomplishments as a producer, MC, and Living Legends member. The video fro "Dip Down," a track off his forthcoming The Darkside Ov Heaven album, bundles his many talents together and drops them in a gritty urban landscape.
