Like many, we here at XLR8R shed a few synthy tears when Ohio-reared trio Emeralds made the decision to disband earlier this year. Fortunately, the group has continued to help us get over the loss with small doses of new music from its individual members, the latest offering coming from the group’s synth maestro, John Elliott, who has shared an outtake from his solo Outer Space project for free download. Resulting from the same sessions which yielded Elliott’s self-titled LP under the Outer Space name, “Scanlon II” is a cosmic outing which dives full on into bubbling synths, arpeggiated leads, and even a bit of drum soloing. The seven-minute tune can be streamed and downloaded using the player below. (via FACT)
