From the archives of late avant-disco producer Arthur Russell, three previously unreleased tracks have surfaced, and are being prepped for release next month via French label Hollie. Credited to Nirosta Steel—the current solo moniker of Steven Hall, who was a frequent Russel collaborator and currently leads the Arthur’s Landing tribute group—the three productions were originally slated to appear on a Hall album that never surfaced. They were all mixed and produced by Russell in 1985, and also find him lending some of his trademark instrumental and vocal abilites to the music. The three-track Foxy Pup EP will see an official release on April 20, but before then, all of its Russell-produced sounds can be heard in full below. (via Pitchfork)
