Copenhagen-based producer—and former Bubblin’ Up subject—Taragana Pyjarama has been somewhat quiet since his ambitious debut LP, Tipped Bowls, was released via the venerable Kompakt label last summer. Now, the man is set to break his recent silence with the release of a new, six-track “mini-lp,” Nothing Hype. Set to drop next month, Nothing Hype is said to find Pyjarama taking on a bit of a different sound than heard on his LP, while still looking to visual images for inspiration—an approach he discovered during the making of Tipped Bowls . “I started collecting pictures and clips and started working with these images in the back of my mind,” the producer tells in his press release before going on to explain, “The overall theme has been grainy and distorted pictures of caves, particularly mysterious crystal caves.” Fortunately, the Copenhagen resident has supplied a teaser video to help give a better idea of what that all means, which can be found below along with the tracklist for Nothing Hype before the record serves as the inaugural release of Pyjarama’s own Wyrd imprint when it drops on June 24.
