Before the celebratory 10th anniversary compilation from online music retailer Bleep arrives on May 5—complete with all brand-new music from the likes of Lone, Gas, Oneohtrix Point Never, Modeselektor, Autechre, Dabrye, Nosaj Thing, and others—one its exclusive tracks has now surfaced online from noise-wrangling UK duo Fuck Buttons. “Brainfreeze (Alt Mix)” is a fresh version of the opening track from last year’s solid Slow Focus LP, one which eschews the original’s gnarled guitar tones and thumping 4/4 beat for jumpy drum breaks and a bed of glimmering, contorting synths of all kinds.
