While Karenn–the collaborative act between London-based producers Pariah and Blawan–has become a prominent fixture in recent years, the former has kept a relatively low solo profile since arriving on the scene in 2010 with his “Detroit Falls” b/w “Orpheus” single for for the esteemed R&S label. It’s no surprise, then, that a new mix from Pariah–delivered courtesy of the Amsterdam-based Truants blog– caught our attention. While the duo’s Works The Long Nights (a.k.a. Sheworks) label hones in on a singular style of techno geared specifically for club environments, Pariah’s Truancy mix branches out further afield, delivering the raw, relentless style he’s commonly associated with, as well as touching on “the spacious and warmer side of techno.”
