Lil Silva Revisits His Childhood in New Video for "Mabel"
- Words: James Eaton
Last month, London producer Liil Silva shared the details of his forthcoming Mabel EP, an announcment which was paired with a stream of the record's vocal-led title cut. Now, with the effort's release still a month away, a new video has surfaced for the hazy, pop-leaning EP cut. A somewhat somber production on its own, the video for "Mabel" (directed by Laura Coulson) is intended as a "subtle homage to Silva's grandmother Mabel, whom the song was about," as it reimagines a few key memories from the producer's own childhood.
Lil Silva's full Mabel EP—which includes a pair of collaborations with LA vocalist Banks—will see its official release on August 4 via Good Years/True Panther. In the meantime, the clip for the record's title track can be watched below.
