Though he’s most recently been heard flirting with the more fun-loving ends of disco and house, Skream‘s new effort sees the long-standing producer/DJ delivering a more subdued sound. Titled “Let It Go,” the new production comes in at almost nine minutes long and focuses on a steady, understated shuffle as it begins unraveling a series of delicate melodic sequences. A slow-moving affair, “Let It Go” builds mass as it chugs forward, its low-rumbling bass drones giving way to dense pads, spiraling arpeggios, and—eventually—a rich string section.
