Today Ableton has released OSCiLLOT, a Max for Live device which brings modular synthesis to the Live realm. Designed by Max for Cats, the OSCiLLOT offers 100 patchable modules (including oscillators, filters, processors, mixers, modulators, amplifiers, shapers, sequencers, utilities, and more) which can freely connected together to build custom signal paths to create and manipulate sounds. Furthermore, the virtual modular device boasts six-voice polyphony, a rarity in real-world/hardware modular systems.

A detailed explanation of the functions and uses of the OSCiLLOT device can be found in the video below, while the virtual instrument’s full list of features and specifications can be read here; the OSCiLLOT is available now from Ableton’s web store for $99.
