A-Trak's Dirty South Dance 2 Is Free and Available Now

As world-famous, globe-trotting DJs go, you have to admit that A-Trak is among the least hateable. Earlier today, the Fool's Gold boss cached a little more goodwill by releasing his new Dirty South Dance 2 mixtape as a free download. He first unveiled the news on his website, but the files can be downloaded via Bandcamp or the little widget we've posted after the jump. Stream Carl Craig's Hot Chip Remix

It's no secret that Hot Chip loves techno. The UK geek-pop outfit's latest album is absolutely soaked in the genre's kind of churning dance grooves, so they must be totally ecstatic that the Don of Detroit, Carl Craig, snagged the elements of "One Life Stand" and transformed the song into an epic techno number. His selections aren't exactly identical to the lush textures and subtle electronics that color his original music, but they aren't quite dancefloor friendly either. Read more »

Pantha du Prince Heads Out on European, North American Tour

One of XLR8R's favorite albums to see release this year so far is Black Noise by German techno minimalist Pantha du Prince. Something about producer Hendrik Weber's deft combination of field recordings, bell sounds, and churning drum-machine rhythms struck a chord both in and out of the electronic music scene, and now the talented music maker is taking his excellent tunes to the wide open road.
