High Five with Justice

French duo Justice is easily the most influential band of 2007. Their rock-heavy beats are coveted by the likes of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, while their style and art direction inspired a stage-crashing outburst from sore loser Kanye West last year at the MTV Europe Video Awards. Here, Xavier de Rosnay, the awake half of Justice, gives us a handful of his top fives–from the albums that influenced him to what he'd like to say to Kanye.

As a 'Expert' on the club scene concerning techno, electronica, rave, trance, and house, it is time to set the record straight. Justice is a great duo that has produced an unforgettable song (DANCE). This is true. HOWEVER, America is NOT the type of country that acknowledges other types of music as popularly as in Europe. Most of the time these popular singles are thrown at us by repetitve company commercials with the track in the backround. THE MAIN MESSAGE: When America catches a good house or electronica single, they percieve the idea that the entire album is the exact same way simply b/c of the fact that this type of music is different from the typical mainstream pop. Im NOT saying that they are horrible. Some of their tracks are great. I'm simply stating that they don't deserve as much credit considering all the other artists that have been producing similar compilations for years that have simply been ignored in Americas music books.
