Join us on this very special occasion as we celebrate our second birthday! We present to you Detroit legend Stacey Pullen and UK DJ duo (and all around silly boys), The 2 Bears.
Stacey Pullen is a name synonymous with excellence in dance music. One of techno's forebears, whose name is closely linked to and was mentored by those known as the Belleville Three (Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson), Stacey Pullen consistently amazes even the most discerning music critics with his old-school Detroit sound and impeccable selection of cutting-edge tracks.
The 2 Bears are a British duo consisting of Joe Goddard (of Hot Chip) and Raf Rundell play an intimate late show following their appearance across town. Two of Flash's finest, Sarah Myers and Navbox are on hand to kick things off, with Select DC's Foot Therapy Crew set to play Flash Bar.

Stacey Pullen is the Kosmik Messenger. An innovator from the second wave of Detroit techno, he grew up under the mentorship of Detroit's legendary three: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. Still continuing to produce his characteristic atmosphere laden electronic sound, Stacey Pullen compounds his reputation as a producer with that of being one of the world's most in demand DJs, playing weekly across the globe year in year out. With a font of passion for music and performance that never dries up, Stacey Pullen still plays every gig from the heart, seeking to surprise and engage, to provide an unforgettable experience, to offer his unique catalogue up without predictability, defying expectation. Above all, from his earliest attempts to the current day Stacey Pullen has stayed true to his one goal: to become and to always be an Innovator.
Pullen spent his formative years at the legendary The Music Institute in Detroit, learning from the likes of Alton Miller, Chez Damier and Derrick May. His first production experiences came through working with Kevin Saunderson on remix work. He released his first track proper on Derrick May’s experimental label Fragile in 1993 and his album debut ‘Theory Of Silent Phase’ was released on R&S / Transmat in 1994, under the name Silent Phase. He has also released on labels including Cadenza, Science/ Virgin,!K7, Saved, Elypsia and his own label Black Flag, under monikers including Bango, Black Odyssey, Graffiti, Kosmic Messenger and Silent Phase.
THE 2 BEARS:
The Bears – Raf Rundell and Joe Goddard – first began crossing paths in DJ Booths. Straight Outta Brompton (well, Putney) Joe spends his time away from The 2 Bears as a producer, remixer, solo-artist and one fifth of an obscure outfit called Hot Chip; fellow Sarf Londoner Raf divides his time between club promotion, DJ outings as Greco-Roman Soundsystem, radio show hosting and artiste management.
The pairs DJ booth banter, soon led to a shared enthusiasm for house music and vague plans for a musical collaboration. Raf’s existence at the music industry coal face and first hand experience of the business’ financial travails, would make Sade’s When Am I Going To Make A Living a suitably irreverent subject for their first musical foray. So began several months of hanging out, making music ‘for the fun of it’ and ‘portamental’ arguments about obscure synths, that would wind up forming the ‘Follow The Bears EP’.
Characterised by the hitherto untapped vocal stylings of Raf himself (Joe: ‘I didn’t know Raf could actually sing!’), the Bears have already received radio support from Annie Mac, Rob da Bank, Giles Peterson and Toddla T, drawn towards The 2 Bears 21st Century take on house, disco and everything in between.
