1 Month until the 22nd edition of Astropolis. The whole team is devoted to offer you an unforgettable experience on Brittany’s soil, announcing an eclectic ringing storm in France’s most sharpened territory.
For three days and nights, Astropolis will extend through dancing, hearing and wandering. This year, the festival expands and thrives around twelve different locations in Brest and beyond, from the outstanding Keroual manor to the inescapable concert halls, but also on public places and city gardens, as well as on sea waters of Brest’s harbor.
The Brest-ish festival offers a range of musical propositions and federative events for everyone and for all ears: Extatic night in Keroual, the festival’s epicenter with its enchanting decorations, open-air in Beau Rivage (free of charge), unifying and intimate journeys on waves, Astro Family for kids and their parents in Brest’s central area. On top of it, you will also be able to partake in an epic electronic petanque contest (Mix’n’Boules) or shop and seek for your beloved vinyl at The Market, authentic crossroads of record dealers, creators and designers.
110 Artists will attend France’s oldest techno festival. Headliners such as Kerri Chandler, Maceo Plex, Len Faki, Emmanuel Top, Agoria, Roman Flügel, Andrew Weatherall and Astropolis’s old sea dog Manu le Malin will stand alongside rising stars including Nastia, AZF, Abdulla Rashim, Maud Geffray, Helena Hauff, Mad Rey and Damiano Von Erckert. Twinkling live shows from Alex Smoke, Space Dimension Controller and Plaid rub shoulders with unrelenting live performances by Venetian Snares, SHXCXCHCXSH, Electric Rescue, Shed, DNGLS and Paris’s gang Unforeseen Alliance. The festival will give free rein to emblematic electronics labels such as R&S Records in La Carène’s Bunker Palace and Kompakt on the Chill-Out stage in Keroual. Those will be escorted by all-time favorites Paula Temple, Tom Trago, Trunkline and Axel Boman.
Astropolis always highlights the local scene with 14 artists, hand-picked by our organizers, divided on several stages throughout the whole festival. Most of the off-events will also be curated by local activists and collectives, in order to promote our region’s sonorous terroir / savoir-faire.
Fascinating, authentic and versatile, this 2016 edition is filled with surprises !
