Atish and Hoj at Flash

Deep, sexy, smooth, and groovy with hints of psychedelia: these are the sounds of atish and Hoj. Long-time burners, these California-based DJs have their roots in deep, melodic, emotive house. Atish is based in San Francisco, and boasts residencies at Do Not Sit On The Furniture and listed's Play. Like Atish, Hoj frequently plays atop the Robot Heart art car and can be seen at All Day I Dream parties around the world, where he is a resident. Flash resident Edo is set to warm us up on this special evening.

Presa returns from LA for a homecoming set in the bar, preceded by the debut of Milk Chocolate City DJs featuring ArthurJ and Willie Dutch.

The Atish experience: deep, emotive, ecstatic. It is more than the beautiful sounds emanating from the speakers, though, it is also the man behind the decks: warm, compassionate, inviting. In an age of oversized DJ egos there is still an artist who is devoted to connecting with his audience, a humble soul with a pure passion for music. This is Atish.

His success comes as no surprise to anyone who has seen Atish DJ live or listened to one of his mixes. With a combination of sophistication and accessibility, his sets are expressive journeys in melodic deep house that create lasting emotional experiences for the listener. Atish is also a natural performer, engaging the crowd with a mixture of charisma and charm. He’s been known to don costumes and wigs when he spins, a playfulness that balances the strict discipline and obsessiveness he has for DJing.

Atish’s natural talent and passion for music haven’t gone unnoticed. Lee Burridge asked Atish to play on the legendary Robot Heart bus sound system at Burning Man in 2011, and Atish has been invited back every year since. He’s also been honored to open for and tag with some of the most respected names in dance music including John Digweed, Danny Howells, Guy Gerber, M.A.N.D.Y., and Tyrant. Currently, Atish is on Listed Bookings’ roster, and he is a resident at Listed’s monthly party, Play, at San Francisco’s world-renowned club, The Endup. Having achieved so much in such a short amount of time, the dance music community is excited to see how far he can go.

Hoj is a rising force with a distinct sound that is gaining momentum. He derives inspiration from everywhere, taking his sultry blend of tech-house to crowds around the world. He grew up in the underground San Francisco dance music community, getting an early education in the culture. In 1998 he stepped behind the decks, beginning a DJ career that has taken him across the US and abroad. Hoj has been based in New York City since 2008. His west coast residencies and affiliations with Opel Productions, Spundae, and Looq Records keep him a truly bi-coastal citizen. His current residency with Listed Productions keeps him busy with events and festivals around the globe. He has played premier events at the DEMF (Detroit Electronic Music Festival), BPM Festival in Mexico, the Winter Music conference in Miami and others. He was a founding member of the Opulent Temple, one of the largest sound camps at the Burning Man Festival, and he returns to play there annually. He has toured the country and the globe, continuing to play alongside the world’s top talent across the US, South America, Central America, French Polynesia, and Europe. In 2011, Hoj made his European debut at the Panorama Bar in Berlin. Hoj’s new production project, called “Tramp”, keeps him busy tinkering with both audio and visual elements in the studio.
