OUR FIRST SUNDAY PARTY!
Thanks Cielo and NYC for keeping us in orbit for 13 years!
Deep Space will now be every Sunday, 8 pm - 2 am
Back in the day when acid was just a tab, DJ Pierre was holed up in his bedroom inventing a sound which would impact on the music scene forever. In 1986, 'acid house' was in its pre-infancy when DJ Pierre picked up a 303 and the infamous "Acid Tracks" was born.
Not many artists in the history of dance music can list Carl Cox, Diesel (X-Press 2), Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Michael Mayer (Kompakt Records), and Tom Stephan as fans. Not many can claim responsibility for helping kick start the careers of Felix Da Housecat and Roy Davis Jr. Not many can lay claim to giving birth to a genre and pioneering a sound that had the whole world dancing and imitating for over fifteen years. DJ/Producer/Remixer, Nathaniel Pierre Jones AKA DJ ‘Wildpitch' Pierre is a rare breed. An artist who's considered a mentor to many of the ‘A' list DJ fraternity, old and new, and one man who continues to stand strong in an industry that's had its ups ‘n' downs.
From the days of ‘Phuture', Pierre's highly successful guise with fellow squelchers Spanky and Herb J - and their epic release ‘Acid Trax', to his biggest hit ‘The Horn Song', featuring Barbara Tucker, his solo projects with David Morales, Felix Da Housecat and his stint as Head of A&R at Strictly Rhythm, DJ Pierre is a force to be reckoned with.
After a bit of a break to get prepped for Dj Pierre's Afro Acid Project', his very first artist album, DJ Pierre is back and ready to show the world just why house music was worth shouting about in the first place.
"I feel a renewed sense of direction in my career. I've never had so many positive things in place at one time like I do now. I have my own wonderful team at DJP Muzik and I can be hands off business enough to create and make the music I love. I am very excited about being head of my own label and the opportunity to make my first full album. I am humbled by what's happening." - DJ Pierre

EARLY SET BY FUNMI
An underground fixture, Funmi returns to Deep Space for an early set to share his serious collection of soulful house, Afrobeat and all that moves our better beings.
Deep Space Mix by Funmi
Deep Space, is an adventure into future dub, spacey vibes, and abstract grooves featuring resident DJ François K. live on the mixing board with special guests.
Since the party’s launch in 2003, Deep Space has featured a who’s who of well known and then emerging artists from around the world representing a stunning array of musical styles that Deep Space is known for integrating into its open minded aesthetic. While the mission of Deep Space remains committed to sharing a love of dub, a vast, under-appreciated musical direction, the party has invited a great range of guest artists to share their creative dub mixing approaches to all things spacey, psychedelic and mind-bending.
From dubstep pioneers such as Mala, Kode9 and Digital Mystikz, to house, techno & disco icons such as Giorgio Moroder, Dimitri from Paris, Theo Parrish, Rhythm & Sound, Ron Trent, Carl Craig, Scuba, Joe Claussell, Derrick May, to cutting edge producers and tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Jamie xx, Mary Anne Hobbs, Mr. Scruff, DJ Spooky and dub legends such as Adrian Sherwood with Pinch, Mad Professor, Mutabaruka and U-Roy, and Brazilian icons Otto with Carlinhos Brown and plenty of live musical and dance performers, Deep Space continues to be a magnet for attracting many of electronic dance music’s most innovative artists. Almost all of the guest artists who play at Deep Space create truly one-of-kind, crate-digging "Deep Space sets."
Deep Space has been presented abroad at the Big Chill Festival (UK), Plastic People (UK), TDK Cross Central Festival (UK), Space Lab Yellow (Japan), Café Jamaica (Japan), Precious Hall (Japan), Phase (Japan), throughout France, in Berlin, Denmark, SONAR Festival in Barcelona and across the U.S. In 2010 Deep Space received a dedicated night at Burning Man’s Disorient camp. In 2004 Deep Space was nominated for “Best Club Night” by the internationally televised “DanceStar USA” awards. In 2005 & 2006 François K. won “Best Resident DJ Award” at the Club World Awards held in Miami. Deep Space was named “Best Party 2004” in Time Out New York. Deep Space was nominated for “Best Party,” at the Club World Awards 2006 and 2007. New York Magazine featured Deep Space in the “Best of New York 2006” issue. In 2013 Do Androids Dance lauded Deep Space as one of “The 10 Best Club Nights in the US.” Francois K. was named "Best Resident DJ" by the 2015 Nightclub Awards.
