Owner of Beaty Boy Records, DJ and producer Steve Crawford aka Dj Energy started spinning in 1985 during the heyday of the underground music scene in Detroit. He plays multiple genres of music and was always known for blowing up dancefloors playing with reckless abandon. Combining musicality with a bit of turntabalism, Steve prides himself on putting on a show behind the turntables. Steve played on local mix shows, student radio, and countless venues throughout the city and beyond. He was discovered by a well revered dj collective in Japan where he performed in 2003 and 2006. Now residing in Phoenix, Az Steve Crawford is helping to bring his soulful music vibe to the Southwest. His own imprint, Beaty Boy Records is slated to release his first full length album in early 2017.
