Will Web is one of a handful of young electro revivalists associated with Detroit's Direct Beat label, also home to such names as Aux 88, K-1, and "Mad" Mike Banks. Like those artists, Web grew up steeped in equal parts early hip-hop (Run-DMC, Ice-T), techno-pop (Kraftwerk, Gary Numan), and first-wave Detroit techno (Model 500, Cybotron), and the breakbeat bias of his music stems from those artists' influence. A DJ through most of the '80s and on into the '90s, Web's first release appeared under his DJ name Mr. Bill (he took the name from the Saturday Night Live character) on the Digital Sects II compilation on Sean Deason's Matrix label. At Deason's behest, Web passed a tape of unreleased material to Mike Banks (of Direct Beat/Underground Resistance), leading to the release of Web's first DB 12-inch, "Cosmic Drive-By". --Sean Cooper, AllMusicGuide

Detroit based producer/DJ Marshall Applewhite has set himself off into a journey of sonic terror reaching out to the late night, early morning, ears of exotic dance music fans around the globe. His sound, albeit jarring at times, encompasses the gritty nature of the city he brought up in. Co-heading the sludge movement with The Friend, Applewhite has brought new life into the techno world. Slow low, acrid, low frequency soundscapes are all a part of what makes Applewhite unique in an overpopulated world of generic music. With a slew of releases out on Detroit Underground, How To Kill, Clan Destine, Senseless Neon and his own YoSucka! Music, Marshall is showing no sign of slowing down.

The founder & label manager of Equal Recordings, co-founder of the Detroit Bachelor DJ Society, executive producer & host of the DBDJS & STEP podcasts. Hinchman has worked for record labels Interdimensional Transmissions & Intuit-Solar, and has taught the craft of beat matching at Axis Music Academy. You may have heard his sets at his past residencies at venues like: Velvet Lounge, Magic Bag, Labyrinth, Lush Lounge, 5th Avenue Royal Oak, Groove Room, Buddha Bar or one of many underground dance parties around the mid-west over the past 20+ years.
