Fiber Festival 2015

FIBER Festival 2015 explores The Subterranean with audiovisual art, digital culture & music.

After a break of almost three years the Amsterdam based FIBER festival returns on May 15 & 16 with a packed program of emerging audiovisual art, immersive performances, electronic music within an clubnight, workshops and a symposium. This edition is focused on the theme The Subterranean: Exploring Networked Tools and Matter and questions the often invisible influence of digital technology on our daily lives. FIBER festival takes place at two cultural hotspots A Lab (symposium, meetup, exhibition) and the industrial club venue RADION (performances & club night) in Amsterdam (a third location is yet to be announced).

With this year’s theme The Subterranean FIBER investigates the use of digital tools to create and at the same time navigate and excavate networked landscapes. This edition focuses on the following questions: What is the influence of this often invisible technological layer fusing with our daily lives? Which worlds, processes and entities lay hidden behind the surface of our computer screens?

During the two days of FIBER Festival, answers to these questions can be found while being sucked into immersive installations, participating in workshops or while getting lost in audiovisual performances, DJ & live sets.
