mobilee records launched in 2005 and quickly established itself as one of the brightest new stars within Berlin’s glittering galaxy of electronic music labels, producers and DJs. Founded and owned by Anja Schneider & Ralf Kollmman, the label boasts a sound that is simultaneously familiar and innovative. Rooted in the classic structures of house and techno with a focus on label showcases, such as the famed annunal Sonar rooftop party in Barcelona, mobilee is committed to developing its roster—the core of whom are booked and managed by the label itself.
Widely respected throughout the world in the spectrum of House and Techno, Anja has traveled all over the world rocking clubs and festivals on just about every continent. Bringing her extraordinary musical taste and her exuberant personality to world-renowned clubs such as Amnesia, Harry Klein, Fabric, Fuse, Rex, Panorama Bar, Goa Madrid, and Womb in Tokyo. Her travels have also seen her grace the decks at festivals and conferences around the world such as ADE, WMC, Off Sonar, BPM, Igloofest, Exit Festival, Sonne Mond Sterne, and many more. As well as traveling internationally Anja has been holding down residencies in Berlin’s Weekend and Watergate clubs for numerous years.
Rodriguez Jr (live)
As one half of French electro act The Youngsters – best known for their two studio albums for Laurent Garnier’s F-Communications – Oliver Mateu has already received enough plaudits and praise to last a lifetime, However Mateu’s wide-ranging inspirations and interests have found their ultimate outlet as Rodriguez Jr, positioning him as Mobilee’s new master of eclecticism. Rodriguez Jr. reveals a different incarnation of Mateu’s musical psyche, one that strides ahead, guided only by his kaleidoscopic vision; moving through shimmering, contemplative electronica, to deep and urgent techno, leftfield melodic accents and quirky pop refrains, Rodriguez Jr. is the by-product of an untamed brand of creativity and a thirst for the new and unexpected. Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Stockhausen, LFO, Carl Craig, Eric Satie, Kraftwerk, and Michael Polnareff, Rodriguez Jr.’s spirit of adventure translates as soaring creativity, and music that cannot be pigeonholed.
