We are very proud to present you an impressive floor show performed by the two electronic live acts Yakumo & OIJ: super danceable pop music drenched with synths and organic pumping techno.
A very remarkable performance at Eurosonic Noorderslag led to their breakthrough. And right now they are preparing themselves for the hot festival season of 2016 during their tour. The unique floor show is the most important part of this exclusive tour and takes place at 18th May at Sugarfactory Amsterdam. This is not just your ordinary club night: the acts will be placed within an amazing light construction to confront the audience their danceable tracks.
The duo Yakumo combines organic African rhythms with a pumping techno beat. All the tracks are produced live on stage by analogue (modular) synthesizers, effect pedals and a mixer. With deep basses, Eastern flutes and marimba loops Yakumo pulls you further, layer by layer. The duo made their debut at Amsterdam Dance Event 2014. In a short time they were booked for key festivals like CATCH, Grasnapolsky, Smeerboel, Welcome to the Village & Oerol in 2015 thanks to only mouth to mouth promotion and without having any tracks released yet. They were also playing as support act for the German pioneers Kraftwerk. Yakumo Orchestra already confirmed their booking for Glastonbury and Zwarte Cross and many festivals will follow.
Last summer many blogs payed a lot attention to his debut single ‘Blinded’. This single has many plays on Deezer and Spotify in US, UK and NL. During April his new single ‘Whitney’ will be released and has a supporting video clip produced by duo Ine & Sanne. It’s catchy, ruthless and very successful!
