A founder of the “Street Bass” sound, which combines elements of hip-hop, grime and dubstep, Starkey creates different dimensions in his music with an ingenius complexity that separates him from other artists. Notably one of the first producers to bring the sound of UK grime to the United States, Starkey’s richly textured production style and refined music engineering has earned him a global fan-base as a true inventor of sound. With international tours and consistent headlines, Starkey’s production has left an indelibly classical mark on the world of bass-heavy music. His fourth full-length album, “The Transponder Orchestra”, will be released this year on Alpha Pup Records.

He has shared stages alongside acts such as Deltron 3030, Kastle, Brillz, Mayhem, AC Slater, Jackmaster, Jokers of the Scene, Girl Talk, Drop the Lime, Plastician and Willy Joy.

Indianapolis, IN based badman is the 3rd owner of Slit Jockey Records and has been an og making grime, rap and experimental beats for years. Currently working on an upcoming project with Cee Knowledge (aka Doodlebug of Digable Planets).
Slit Jockey Records is celebrating its 10 year anniversary! The imprint is notable as the first "grime" label in the US and its still one of the only stateside labels focused on grime. The current phase of anniversary plans includes an exciting and comprehensive ‘best of’ collection entitled “10 Years of Grime” - highlighting Slit Jockey’s unique stamp on the movement. In conjunction with the release of “10 Years of Grime” they will also drop a new t-shirt and trek out on a US mini-tour. The label is owned and operated by Starkey, Dev79 and El Carnicero.
