2AMFM LIVE SET [JTC+D'Marc Cantu] <Bopside/Nation/Spectral Sound/Creme Organization>
In 2005, JTC aka James T. Cotton aka Tadd Mullinix teamed up with then roommate D’Marc Cantu to create 2 AMFM, an unflinching take on pure acid-soaked techno and house. Since then this Ann Arbor based duo has put out a slew of records on some of the finest and most respected labels around, such as Nation, Spectral Sound, Creme Organization, MOS Recordings, and Signals. This will be their debut in Los Angeles, celebrating their newest self-titled album out on JTC's Bopside Records, and we could not be more excited to hear them bang tha boxxx with a live set from these unorthodox jakbeat kings.
Charles Manier <Bopside/Nation/Ghostly International>
One of JTC's incarnations and alter egos, Charles Manier is one of the most brilliant producers in the game and has been schooling cats for years. Charles Manier summons the spirits of CHBB and Liaisons Dangereuses, is electric and so dangerous. Essential electronix from beyond. We are beyond excited to announce he will be performing his debut here in LA with a surely-to-be legendary DJ set. We will also be celebrating his newly released album "American Manier" out now on Bopside Records.
Fanon Flowers <Mechanisms Industries/Planet Rhythm/ Grounded Theory Berlin>
Another Michigan native (though now based in LA), Fanon Flowers was born and raised in Kalamazoo, exactly halfway between Detroit and Chicago, the birthplaces of techno and house music. He began to garner attention in 1994 when he appeared as Mode Selector on the "Elements of and Experiments with Sound" compilation on Detroit's seminal Planet E Communications and in 1996 on the infamous "Detroit: Beyond the Third Wave" Compilation. Subsequent EPs for such labels as Reference, Konsequent, Sonic mind, Sheep, E-Com, and Holtzplatten established Flowers' reputation as a prominent American techno producer. In 1996, Flowers also started his own techno imprint, Mechanisms Industries to showcase his unique and funky approach to techno. With over 50 records produced and released on various labels, including recently on labes such as Modularz, Sect Records, Suburban Avenue, Studio Sound, Fanon Flowers has established himself throughout the world, embarking on several European Tours and one-off events in Slovakia, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Amsterdam, Germany, England etc. It has been a long time since Flowers has played in his new hometown of LA, and we are honored to host this midwest hero who will surely blow your minds.
