It’s Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles and the end of summer, meaning it’s a massive party weekend chock full of events suited for all musical tastes.
Kick off the holiday weekend this upcoming Saturday at Cyclone, where the minimal-oriented events series will return for a proper extended party in collaboration with Decibel Festival. Taking over the Noise Room at UNION Club from 10PM to 10AM, this special gathering will be headlined by Berlin-based DJ and producer and Mule Musiq mainstay Oskar Offermann. Saturday’s DJ set will be Offermann’s second time gracing Cyclone’s decks, and with Noise Room’s state-of-the-art booth and finely tuned Funktion One system, his performance is not one to be missed. Also on Saturday’s bill is Ukrainian artist iO (Mulen), who will be making a rare and highly anticipated stop on the West Coast. Support for Offermann and iO is set to be provided by LA’s own Andrew Kelley, and Cyclone resident HAAS. For more information and tickets to the party, click here.
Veteran LA-based promoter Incognito also returns this Saturday for a DTLA warehouse party in collaboration with Work. Incognito, which has an open-ended music policy, will focus on booming techno for this upcoming edition, inviting renowned Dutch selector Sterac (a.k.a. Steve Rachmad) for a special extended set. Also on the lineup is Incognito resident Gerard not Gerald, Ascetic Limited memeber Motionen, and Jonny Maven. Tickets and more info can be found here.
The Moony Habits crew will also make an appearance in DTLA’s warehouse district this coming Saturday, again inviting the In Dust We Trust brothers (and recent XLR8R podcast guests) Chaos In The CBD for a headlining performance. With lo-fi house master Urulu and Akashik Records contributor Alima Lee also on the lineup, this one should satisfy those with a craving for wide-ranging dance music styles.
