Publish date:

As it often is, the internet was flooded this week with various bits of audio and video, and although we do our best to post everything noteworthy as it appears, some choice items still manage to slip through the cracks. Luckily, we have Press Play, which collects the cream of the streaming crop every Friday here on XLR8R. The latest edition includes offerings from house heavyweights like Mr. Fingers and MK, XLR8R regulars like FaltyDL, The Field, and Daedelus, and promising upstarts like Dauwd.

XLR8R did a takeover of Boiler Room LA a few weeks back, and recordings of two of that night's guests, MK and FaltyDL, have surfaced online for those who missed the broadcast.

Chicago house legend Mr Fingers put together a mix for Defected's In Their House series. Head here to check the tracklist and read an interview with the veteran artist.

Dark italo outfit Glass Candy unveiled this video for "The Possessed," a track from its forthcoming After Dark 2 compilation. The group also posted an "Extended Runway Edit" of the song for free download.

LA romantic Daedelus is currently in the midst of his latest Magical Properties tour, but his remix handiwork was on display this week when this rework of Hundred Waters appeared online.

Ex-Yellow Swan noisenik Pete Swanson offered up a stream of his forthcoming EP on Software, Punk Authority.

Indie outfit Tame Impala got the extended remix treatment from The Field, who transformed "Mind Mischief" into a gorgeous haze of hypnotic loops.

Skittering percussion and thick, syrupy bass define this Om Unit rework of Reso's "Simple Pleasures."

UK duo Walls launched a new label, Ecstatic, and put together this new mixtape to celebrate the occasion.

The Enchufada label continued its high-octane Upper Cuts series with another free giveaway, the UK funky-influenced "PC Riddim" from Wildlife!

Rising UK producer Dauwd shared a stream of the title track from his forthcoming EP for Ghostly, which drops next week.

We enjoyed this propulsive dancefloor cut from Swedish house maestro Jonas Rathsman.

Sweatson Klank will soon be releasing the You, Me, Temporary LP via Project:Mooncircle and gave away "Waiting" as a free download to further stoke the fires of excitement around the record.

Lovers of wonky beat work should definitely check the stream of the Spark EP, the latest offering from Chrome Sparks.
