Robert Fantinatto and Jason Amm (also known by his production handle Solvent) have compiled a wide range of interviews and gear-porny footage for I Dream of Wires, a feature-length documentary which navigates the mysterious world of modular synthesizers and their passionate users. Featuring interview with notable artists such as Carl Craig, Legowelt, John Tejada, former Emeralds member John Eliot, James Holden, and many more, the ambitious doc is set to see a theatrical release in May, but pre-orders for I Dream of Wires: Hardcore Edition—which clocks in at four hours with extended interviews and segments—are already being taken, with plans for the double Blu-Ray/DVD “Hardcore Edition” to be shipped in June. For now, you can watch the extended trailer below while doing your best not to drool over the beautiful array of giant knobs, flashing lights, and colorful wires that manages to find its way into every shot.
